A new place to try in Byron

The team behind Light Years and Moonlight has added another stellar dining and drinking experience to their repertoire with the opening of @pixiebyronbay at 139 Jonson Street. Combining Byron's laidback ambiance with the best of city dining, Pixie brings a modern coastal twist to traditional Italian cuisine. Calling on head chef Matteo Tine's Sicilian roots, Pixie leverages the best of seasonal produce to create an evolving menu that's both confident and contemporary.

The Food

Our favourites from their summer menu are the marinated chargrilled peppers with sherry vinegar, the Paccheri with Wagyu ragu parmigiano reggiano and fried sage, and the dry-aged Bistecca with pink peppercorn and grappa sauce and lemon.

There is also a great Vegan and Gluten Free Menu.

The Wine

When it comes to drinks the Pixie wine list has been designed to showcase the game changers, the agitators, and the visionaries of the global wine community and celebrates producers who chase authenticity and are not scared to colour outside the lines.

With a focus on local Australian wineries and a strong nod to the kitchen’s Italian roots, the result will delight wine lovers and newcomers alike.

The Cocktails

Bright uninhibited flavours lead the way, with a good dose of classic Italian theory and the occasional vogue ingredient — this is our liquid love letter to fun, accessible coastal drinking.

Designed in conjunction with Melbourne cocktail alumni Joey Jones (Romeo Lane), the Pixie cocktail offering takes on an uncomplicated approach, allowing the chosen produce and technique to do all the talking.
